Requirements

Before you start, ensure you have:

  • Chromecast device
  • Chromecast (any generation)

  • Phone/computer and Chromecast on same network
  • 2.4GHz or 5GHz WiFi works

How to Cast

Step-by-Step

  1. Open the mixtape on your phone or computer
  2. Click the shared link in your browser
  3. Wait for player to load

  4. Look for the cast icon (📡)

  5. Usually in player controls
  6. Top-right corner or bottom controls
  7. May need to click "More options" first

  8. Tap the cast button

  9. Browser shows available devices
  10. Your Chromecast devices appear in list

  11. Choose your device

  12. Select from the list
  13. Connection establishes (2-5 seconds)

  14. Start playing

  15. Tap play if not already playing
  16. Audio streams to selected device

Quick Cast (Chrome)

Stopping Chromecast

To stop casting:

  1. Click the cast icon (📡) again
  2. Select "Stop casting"
  3. Or disconnect from device list
  4. Playback stops on device

Troubleshooting Chromecast

Device Not Appearing

How to Use AirPlay

From iPhone/iPad

  1. Open mixtape in Safari (must be Safari)
  2. Start playing a track
  3. Find AirPlay controls:

Option A - From Player: - Look for AirPlay icon in player controls - Tap to see available devices

Option B - From Control Center: - Swipe down from top-right (iPhone X+) - Or swipe up from bottom (older iPhones) - Tap audio card in top-right - Tap AirPlay icon (▲📡)

Option C - From Lock Screen: - Wake your phone (don't unlock) - See now playing card - Tap AirPlay icon

  1. Select your device
  2. Choose Apple TV, HomePod, etc.
  3. Multiple devices for multi-room audio
  4. Check devices to include them

  5. Start streaming

  6. Audio plays on selected device(s)
  7. Control from any AirPlay interface

From Mac

  1. Open mixtape in Safari
  2. Start playing
  3. Click AirPlay icon in menu bar
  4. Or in Safari's audio controls
  5. Select device
